Postpartum Support

  • Between restless nights, household chores, and birth recovery, postpartum can really take a toll on you. My role as a postpartum doula would be to maximize mom’s rest, to help establish a good infant-feeding start (whether breastfeeding or bottle-feeding), to do light household tasks such as baby laundry and light meal prep, and to help families figure out how to soothe their baby through different techniques.

  • Evidence-based research shows that women who are cared for by others in order for them to focus solely on themselves and their newborn, have a superior adjustment to postpartum life. Having support during this critical transition decreases chances of perinatal mood disorders, and increases:

    • breastfeeding success

    • self-confidence

    • education on what to expect from a newborn

  • Postpartum services can be booked prior to the birth of a baby, or after the newborn has been born.
